Jeff Why wouldn't you use the same strings Tobias uses to dial in the signature sound of their instruments? I loved the OEM's first time I picked up an MTD bass and have found no reason to try any other brands after dozens of string changes. Very good consistency of tone from string to string, set to set. I love the bright, long lasting clarity of these, and use them on a KZX5 fretted, KZX5 fretless, and my most recent acquisition, a KZ6 with full Bartolini pickup/pre upgrade.
Excellent price for excellent strings.
