The MTD Bass Strings are the same used on Michael Tobias's Basses since 1994.  MTD Custom Wound Stainless Steel electric bass strings are designed from input received from some of the finest bass players in the world and deliver a bright, brilliant, distinctive tone with great feel, tonal definition and a strong punch.

Original Brand on an MTD = pure joy!

I've used nothing but these on my Kingston ZX5 since I bought it about 2 years ago. I average 50 shows and about 7-10 string changes per year. They sound so good to me, I have no desire to try anything else on my bass. I absolutely love that instrument, and stick with these strings, as they're what Mr. Tobias has specified to make his basses sound their best, and I agree whole-heartedly. They are super lively, last as well or better than most any other strings I've tried in 40+ years of playing, and are very reasonably priced here at Fret Nation. Seriously, unless you are a hardcore player of flatwounds or cannot stand the feel of stainless steel, I see no reason to reach for anything else to get the most enjoyment out of your MTD. If you like a bright, lively, full focused sound, you just can't go wrong with a fresh set of these.
Love 'em!
