Michael Tobias and Andrew Gouché have been friends for years and already created a Handmade MTD American model, they didn't stop there!
The MTD Kingston Andrew Gouché, also known as the Kingston AG, begain in 2010 with a close collab between Michael Tobias and Andrew Gouché with the goal of bringing the best features of the Handmade Signature Bass to the Kingston line.
Like all MTD Kingston instruments, the AG undergoes a rigorous quality control and setup process in the MTD US Facility from their master technicians. The MTD Kingston AG bass features MTD's signature asymmetrical neck and compound radious fingerboard which allows the player to enjoy hours of comfortable playing. The Buzz Feiten Tuning System provides precise intonation up and down the fingerboard. The robust, top-loaded, quick release bridge allows for speedy and easy tring changes while the Licensed Hipshot Ultralight tuning machines provide accurate tuning while mainting a balanced instrument.
The MTD Kingston AG features a carved alder both with a stunning maple burl top. The Alder body makes for a very warm big sounding yet slightly compressed punchy bass. The maple burl top gives each bass a unique look. The Purpleheart fingerboard compliments the custom smoky purple satin finish tying everything together for Andrew's favorite tone and feel. The Kingston AG also features propietary MTD Bartolini soapbar pickups that are identical to the pickups found in the MTD USA Handmade instruments. This bass also features a custom Bartolini USA Preamp providing +/- 12dB of boost/cut on each of its Three specially selected frequency bands.
