If you are looking for a short scale powerhouse this is it! This McGrath Thumper features a swamp ash body finished in a striking Damascus aesthetic. Every McGrath build is a unique, one-of-one creation - a functional art piece designed to be as visually commanding as it is sonically dominant.
This McGrath Short Scale Thumper is built around a Nordstrand pickup configuration for an incredible array of world-class tones. The neck position has a Nordstrand Big Split for clarity with a massive fat low end. The middle position is loaded with a NP4a in reverse, strategically placed to capture a tighter more focused defined tone in the lower strings while maintaining a thick growling midrange.
The electronics are pure for performance and functionality with a simple Volume / Volume / Tone layout. Each volume pot has a pull function with the Neck volume acting as a kill switch and pulling the middle pickup volume puts both pickups in series providing a massive high output boost.
The P-Style body represents a player-first evolution with deep, ergonomic contours, premium black badass hardware, and a striking simulated anodized silver pickguard for a great contrast to the complex shifting patterns of the Damascus finish. The body has been engineered with a perfectly balanced profile designed to eliminate neck dive, the sculpted heel provides effortless access to the higher register.
