The new J-Style Thunderhorse represents the latest evolution from McGrath Guitars. Engineered with a player-first philosophy, it features deep, ergonomic contours and a perfectly balanced profile design to eliminate neck dive. The sculpted heel provides effortless access to the higher register, ensuring the full scale is at your fingertips.
This bass is one of the first to feature the new McGrath Single Knob Tilt EQ. A single-pot active preamp and buffer. Turning the center detent knob yields glassy highs in one direction and rich, powerful low end in the other. Includes a passive tone control for ultimate versatility.
This McGrath J-Style Thunderhorse features an array of EMG HZ Passive Pickups. The neck pickup is an Alnico V to deliver a more classic warmth when paired with the Ceramic magnets in the middle and bridge position which are more punchy and bright. The bridge pickup is located in the 60's position.
This bass features the McGrath Programmable Rotary Switch which gives you up to 12 programmable pickup settings, the ability to quickly jump to your favorite and all pickups on in parallel mode! Program the switch with a very easy to use app on your computer!
Built for performance in every detail of the McGrath J-Style Thunderhorse. The neck pickup has been moved back 3/8 of an inch, creating a dedicated landing zone for slap players without sacrificing that deep neck position low end.
The foundation is a resonant lightweight solid mahogany body paired with a stunning roasted flame maple neck and slab ebony fingerboard. For road-worthy reliability, the neck is reinforced with carbon fiber rods and utilizes a two way spoke nut truss rod for effortless on the fly adjustments.
