When Ian Martin Allison approached La Bella about doing a signature set of Super Polished bass strings, he loved the original recipe: the punch of stainless steel round wounds with a smoother feel.  He wanted a couple of tweaks to the formula to suit his broad needs as a session and touring bassist. 

La Bella changed the gauges, left a touch more edge on the outer windings and gave him custom pink and grey silk ends,  The result, a unique tone that leans round wound but has a buttery smoother feel.  His reaction after playing them on the road for months "Did La Bella just build the perfect string?!"

All standard bass sets are LONG scale length 37" from ball-end to silk/taper. Only the silk portion of the string should wrap around the tuning post or else the string will break.
