Ken Smith Slick Round Series Bass Strings 4-String Set
- Part Number: SRM
- Gauges: .044 .062 .084 .106
- Winding Length: 38"
- Purple Silk Wrap on Both Ends
- Nickel / Iron Alloy
Ken Smith Slick Round Bass Strings have an outer winding that starts as a round wound and is ground into a semi flat-wound string. The result is a thick, full sounding string without the brilliant bright high end found on a traditional round wound string. The Nickel Iron Alloy allows for a very long string life.

Great fast product! It's the only place I can find Ken Smith taper slick round Low B
I'll be coming back for sure.
I was really looking forward to trying these strings but the low B is completely dead, zero tone. The other strings seem to be fine but the set isn’t usable:(
Sorry to hear you are unhappy with the B-string! I have a few questions if you don't mind.
Is any of the full thickness of the string going around the tuning post? (the metal part of the string rather than only the silken section).
What kind of bass are these being installed on?
Did you ensure the string is not twisted? The string should lay completely flat across the fingerboard and then use the tuning post to bring it up to pitch, and make sure not to wrap the string around the post manually.
The .130 is a pretty heavy string when you consider it starts at a .140 and is ground down to the .130.
If the string is too long for your instrument the result will be a dull sounding string.
Let me know and I'm happy to work with you on this!
