GHS Pressurewound bass stings are awesome. I've tried them all: Pressurewound, Groundwound, Half-Round, and Semi-Flats. These GHS strings feel the most like flats of them all, yet retain just enough "zing" in the very upper midrange.
Enough about the strings... I want to say that Jason is the man! I am a forever customer of Fret Nation! He takes the time to help you with the tough decisions when it comes to those pesky string purchases. Listen to Jason. He won't steer you wrong...
Good selection, good prices, knowledgeable advice from Jason, what's not to like?!?!
I haven't gone through the "break-in period" yet, but so far, I love these strings.
One bit of information... I have tried several companies ground-wound and half-round strings. GHS Pressurewound are the best, IMHO!
These strings fit my Mustang PJ bass but might be too short for string-through-body short scale basses. They are balanced in tension and tone. The nickel-iron Alloy 52 is brighter than nickel-plated steel but not as bright as stainless steel. The roller winding takes off a little bit of top end, which makes tone control easy. The feel is tight but not stiff. Good all-around string!
