GHS Brite Flats are made by grinding the outer winding of roundwounds to a smooth flat finish.  Brite Flat Bass Strings are made of Ground Roundwound Alloy 52 strings and is just as easy on your frets and fingers as flatwound strings.  Brite Flats offer a sound darker than rounds, but brighter than flatwound strings.

      I like these strings

      I like these strings.They are nearly as smooth as flats to the touch, but preserve most of the transparency that distinguishes round wounds. They sound bright and clear. They also don’t make noise if you slide the fingers on them, up or down the fretboard. I never much cared for that “scratchy” noise. I tried D’addario half-wounds before these GHS ground strings, but the D’addarios sound comparably dull, lacking brightness.
