Peter N. I like these strings.They are nearly as smooth as flats to the touch, but preserve most of the transparency that distinguishes round wounds. They sound bright and clear. They also don’t make noise if you slide the fingers on them, up or down the fretboard. I never much cared for that “scratchy” noise. I tried D’addario half-wounds before these GHS ground strings, but the D’addarios sound comparably dull, lacking brightness.
