Flat & Thuddy"D" Strings

I normally use the Dunlop Marcus Miller or the Regular Stainless Steel strings and really like them. I was looking for something that is still bright but a little smoother, so decides to give these a try. They weren't as bright as I was hoping for, but still decent and the feel was great. My biggest gripe is that on both sets I got the "D" string was flat and thuddy.

Hello Gabrial. The Nickel Plated Steel are going to have a smoother surface feel but not be as brilliantly bright as the Stainless. That being said, the D strings should not sound flat and thuddy! Very odd for two sets to have a bad string. In the future, if you experience a string that you feel isn't as it should be, please reach out to us so we can address it with the manufacturer!
