Flatwound strings are more popular now than they have been in years.  The flatwound sound is heard on all kinds of timeless tracks in rock, funk, and R&B genres.  The Flatwound sound helped define the role of bass players today.  Dunlop Flatwound Bass Strings provide a clear solid fundamental with great tonal versatility.  Dunlop Flats are a modern punchy and articulate sounding flatwound but if you roll off the tone on your bass you will get that classic deep mellow thump flat wound bass strings are known for.

Dunlop Flat Wound Bass Strings were designed for lower tension, great flexibility, and consistent string to string tone and output.  Dunlop Flatwound Bass Strings are Stainless Steel.

Good tone and feel but inconsistant mfg

The strings feel and sound good but be aware that there are inconsistencies with the manufacturing. The silk wrapping at the ball end of the E-String was so thick that it couldn't pass through the bridge opening (Had to trim some off to get it to go through) and the winding length can vary by as much as 1/4" +/- (I got one string that was 1/4" shorter and another 1/4" longer than specified in the same package)

We will pass this on to Dunlop. The amount of silk will always vary as it is spun by hand. It is common for flats to require the silk to be trimmed off at the ball end from most manufacturers that do it. It can easily be done with a razor blade and some patience. As far as the silk at the tuning post, it should not be shorter than the length advertised, but it can vary longer depending on the string. The silk is there simply to cover the unpolished flat ribbon.

Feels almost as supple as La Bella low tension flats and I appreciate Dunlop making medium scale set
