    Best roundwounds by far

I'm a P-Bass guy and these have just the right sound for me. I've tried many types of bass strings - hexcores, roundwounds flatwounds, pressurewounds, but I always end up coming back to DR Pure Blues lights. I like their bright sound and longevity. Hexcores go dead way too fast, but the Pure Blues rounds last the longest of any string I've tried. I used to play medium lights (.045 - 100), but the heavy sound of the low E and A always sounded a little muddy for my style which is finger-picking. With the lighter gauge of the Victor Wooten light gauge I can achieve the punch and brightness that I used to get with a pick, but with my fingers. They're easier to play too and don't put a strain on my truss rod (or my fingers) since they are lower tension. They still give you the bass tone you need, but give you more presence in the mix. These are my go-to strings.
