If you are a serious bass player and you haven't gotten your hands on a Super P, this is a now brainer!  The look and feel lean towards the traditional P-Bass design, however the tone and quality are everything you expect from a Dingwall!  The Dingwall Super P delivers a classic P-Bass tone with the definition of a Dingwall!

Body & Neck:

The most obvious feature is of course the multi-scale fanned-fret design that Dingwall is world renowned for, but the Super P does not stop there!  Dingwall uses a special polyester finish that has been formulated for electric basses resulting in a body that looks as though they were dipped in glass!  The finish is extremely thin which allows it to be acoustically transparent.  Dingwall also builds the bodies slightly thinner than standard P-Basses to reduce weight and give the body more resonance.  

Another distinctive feature of the Dingwall Super P is the headstock scallop, which serves two functions.  It reduces headstock mass slightly and it defines a three-dimensional "Hot Rod" style flame on the bottom edge.  The reduced headstock weight and lightweight tuning machines keeps the traditional P-Bass look while modernizing the performance. 

Hardware:

The Dingwall Fanned-Fret system was designed by Ralph Novak to facilitate the most appropriate scale length for each individual string.  It's a pioneering concept that is applied across the entire Dingwall bass lineup!  

Pickups and Electronics:

Whether you are digging Jaco style octave runs, Billy Sheehan tapping licks or some no-nonsense John Paul Jones type riffing, Dingwall Custom-Made Pickups can handle it!  The Super J is standard with a passive circuit, but we can spec your Dingwall with an active preamp or toggle switches.
