Dingwall Stainless Steel 5 string set

Slapped a set of these on my Dingwall NG3. Quite a lot more stiff than the nickels despite the B E and A being slightly smaller gauge. Texture wise they’re a lot grippier than the nickels. Not cheese grater status, but noticeable.
Sound wise, as expected, they’re very bright and deep and lively. Piano tone. Straight up sounds like a brand new piano. Solo playing, slap, stuff with lots of space and harmonics these are excellent. Neck and bridge pickups running passive slap is to DIE for. Soloing the neck pickup for tapping is very Chapman Stick sounding. Middle/bridge and solo bridge (especially in active with some mid boost) for pick playing or harmonics? It’s like a laser beam. Or a light saber.

I’ve used these in the past, nice tight low end with a great brilliance. The tension is pretty even from string to string. Also, the windings on the strings are nice and uniform. Have tried other strings that the windings had gaps, always bothered me under bright lights.

Love Dingwall Strings

I love Dingwall strings! I do think they wear a little quickly but a bang on em real hard and my NG3 is my go to, so gets played daily... for hours.
