MC Series Pickups:
The ACG MC Series pickups have come about through lengthy collaboration between Aaron Armstrong, The MC Series Pickups are the ultimate pickup to use with the ACG DFM filter pre-amp.. These pickups are available exclusively on Über Spec basses.
The MC Series Multi-Coil Pickups are part of a proprietary system exclusive to AC Guitars. The system uses different components for the two pickups in order to provide a bridge version and a neck version which accentuates the tonal qualities for the two positions.
This system leads to improved dynamics and far greater clarity over the entire range of the bass.
ACG believes that the MC Series pickups offer you the most sonic versatility and clarity possible, in conjunction with their ACG DFM preamp every possible subtlety and nuance is present and there to be played with.
About ART (Acrylic Resin Treated) Woods:
Alan Cringean started using acrylic impregnated woods pretty much straight away mainly for fingerboards. Alan could see no down side to them 20 years ago and this is still very much the case today. The ART woods came along a bit later and have brought a whole new world of colours being dyed and dual dyed. Since the process cannot be controlled where dye takes or does not take produces interesting and unique tops. The next step was ART/Hybrid tops. These combined ART boards with epoxy resins. This further increased the complexity of the colours and textures possible in a top wood.
For 20+ years Alan worked with one guy, Larry Davies on all the ART and Hybrid tops. They were friends even though they never actually met. They tried several times but never managed it. Larry Davies sadly passed away in April 2024. Alan lost a friend and someone that has been with ACG since the day it started.
