This ACG Recurve 4/32 Custom Series bass is a stunning showcase of Alan Cringean's woodworking artistry and craftsmanship. The Redwood Burl top with Wenge and Cherry accents create visually striking layered presentation. The figured Cherry body delivers a warm resonant tonal character. Bolted up to the body is an assymetrical 5-piece Maple / Padauk neck with a Stripy Ebony fingerboard and luminlay side dots make this instrument very comfortable to play.
This shorter 32" scale ACG Recurve offers playability and comfort without sacrificing tonal depth or string responsiveness. The ACG FB Humbuckers feed into a John East Uni-Pre 4K giving you a wide tonal palette with the flexibility of active and passive modes on demand. The bass is finished in a satin lacquer and fitted with all black hardware including an ACG designed Hipshot 19mm bridge, Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuning machines and Dunlop Dual Design StrapLok - this bass is built to perform and last!

AC FB Humbucker:
This hum cancelling pickup uses coils which are rotated through 90 degrees with magnets inside them placed against a single blade of steel running the length of the pickup. This gives the advantage of hum cancelling while still maintaining the narrow magnetic aperture of a single coil. The bridge and neck versions have different gauges of wire and number of turns giving added versatility to the sounds you can get from your ACG bass.
John East Uni-Pre 4K Active Preamp Controls:
Volume Knob sets the output level for both active and passive paths
The Blend Knob sets both the active and passive blend mix for the pickups: ACW for bridge pickup alone and CW for the neck pickup alone. A click midway gives an equal mix of both pickups if they are balanced. Internal Gain Trims, 0-12dBs, allow the pickup levels to be adjusted and/or matched
Bass Boost/Cut or Boost only – set according to Jumper Link on circuit board. Controls the level of low end content according to the 'Bass Window' settings on the circuit board. A center click is included
Treble (Pull for Bright)/Cut knob, controls the higher frequency spectrum according to the setting of the internal Treble Shelf Frequency adjustment. Pull for Bright adds 'high end sizzle' sheen. A neutral setting is provided with a center click
Mid controls the level of Mid Boost/Cut at frequencies according to the setting of the Mid Frequency knob. A neutral setting is provided with a center click on the upper Boost/Cut knob
Tone Roll-off, set CW for no effect. Adjust ACW in order to mellow the treble and fully backed off for the 'darkest' sound. Push-pull toggle switch, pull for the Passive Signal path which consists of the Volume, Blend and Passive Tone. Push in for the full Active Signal path
